Five Element Acupuncture - Sharon Crowell
Five Element Acupuncture:
Although Sharon has received training in other styles of acupuncture since starting her practice, she feels that the basic classical style of acupuncture produces the best results for her clientele. According to Five Element Theory, we all contain five aspects or “elements” of energy that relate to our physical, emotional, and mental health. Different circumstances in our lives require that we call on these aspects of ourselves in different ways. In this style of acupuncture, needles are placed on points to enhance the particular element or energy that we need at the moment, while relaxing those that are not currently productive.
Esoteric Acupuncture:
Late in her career Sharon trained in Esoteric Acupuncture, based on the principles of sacred geometry. In addition to working with the power of individual points, point combinations are used in geometric patterns which facilitate spiritual healing as well as the restoration of health and harmony in body and mind.
Who Will Benefit:
Since she began practice in 2000, Sharon has followed her clients through career changes, family upheavals, deaths of parents, children and spouses, as well as through devastating medical diagnoses. Her primary focus as an acupuncturist at this point in her practice is to support and guide her patients through these times of transition. It continues to be her experience that these two styles of acupuncture are best suited to that task.

QiGong is an ancient mind-body practice and a form of gentle exercise integrating posture, movement, breathing techniques, self-massage, sound, and focused intent. It lowers stress and anxiety, bringing a sense of quiet and calm. It includes breath coordinated slow movements, self-applied massage, tapping and meditation to enhance vitality.
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art. Initially developed for combat and self-defense, it has evolved into a sport and form of exercise. Tai Chi is a gentle, low-impact form of exercise in which practitioners perform a series of deliberate, flowing motions while focusing on deep, slow breaths. Often referred to as "meditation in motion," Tai Chi aims to concentrate and balance the body's qi, providing benefits to mental and physical health.
